Can you picture it?
Giggles and laughs all around....

A random run I did in Taiwan last year.

This happened just yesterday... so its pretty fresh in my mind. This past month I have been doing most of my runs at the track near my house as I don't have many good routes to run... they all have too many cars on them. I usually train on my lunch break; the track is usually empty then. I arrived at the track and to my surprise I see like 100 middle school kids at the track all in their school uniforms. They were sitting on the bleachers with there teacher talking. I usually change right in the middle of the field and don't think much of it so I did just that. As I took off my jacket the students started to cheer loudly. The cheers only got louder as I changed out of all my clothes and into my shorts.. I usually don't run in a shirt either... that was quite a hit with them also. The kids started to cheer every lap as I passed them. It was very motivating and I couldn't help but laughing when they were clapping as I ran by. The students would all be quiet and then when I passed just start clapping... really weird. I decided I might as well put on a little show for them. I started to run each lap faster then the last one. One of the students comes up to me well I'm running and says "sir, you could stop ok if you want" her English wasn't very good though. I knew what she meant and said I'll continue for another 2 laps. She walks back and joins the big group of students muttering something in Chinese that I didn't understand. When I came around again there is a boy waiting to race me in the lane beside me. Of course I had to take him to school and show him whose boss. I picked up the pace and dropped him about 250m's into the lap. Then the next lap another boy is waiting to race me. I start to wonder how much more I can give... I'm starting to feel the effects of my fast early pace. I've been running for like 25mins now at quite a fast clip. So as I approach him he starts to sprint as fast he can go. I respond and start to hear him breathing quite heavily and think I've got him but the little bugger speeds up and were sprinting at top speed for like 200m's. I'm quite tall so when I real want to lengthen my stride and move I can really go. So I lengthen my stride and give what I have left in my tired legs and finish the lap in probably close to 60sec pace. Quite an impressive effort from the kid I must say. I'm in the conditioning phase of my training and haven't really done much fast stuff yet so this was a bit of a shock to my system I must say.

That run really cracked me up though!

Random runs here I am
