To say running has been a big part of my life would be a bit of an understatement. As you can see all of my best performances are from High School. I attracted some attention for scholarships, but even running 1:50 800m isn't enough to get a full ride at a good school. Ive been met with shocked people who can't believe that...its the truth. The magical 1:49 was probably needed to get a scholarship at a good school. I trained for awhile after high school but money and injuries kept me from running anything attention grapping. In 2003-2004 realites changed and I realised the sacrifice that running was taking. I love running but wasn't willing to make it my career. Considering only the top 20 in every event can make a living off the sport put things into perspective for me. Running is still something that interests me alot and its good to see people I've raced against running on the world stage and mixing things up. Will I run again? I'm asked this often my different people who know me....hmmm....I wouldn't rule it out in the future is all I can say. I've only ever really run the 800m before. I've run a handful of quality 1500m's but never did any endurance training in HS...I peaked out at probably like 40mile weeks and towards the end of the season was probably running like 20miles a week...all speed. Running the 1500m and mile given my speed and build is something that was my goal after HS...running a 4min mile is something that has always interested me as well.

What are some of your favorite workouts? hmmmm before I ran 1:50...i found an interesting workout on the internet 3*800m 10min rest. I modified the workout to suit me 2:04, 2:05, 2:05 was happy with that. Ive done some good 8*300m sessions in 41's. I like doing 400m repeats and speed play workouts are always fun...negative splitting ect. I've done some 16mile runs at Ilam track in NZ around midnight that were pretty awesome. Pushing your body and finding its limits is a very interesting and satisfying experience. Running through heats and rounds of championships running near your pb and feeling easy and confident is also pretty amazing.
