Rainy days
I hate the idea of being in an internet cafe with a sore back on this monday just as much as the guy typing next to me. But that is what happens when your beach trip gets rained out, and you start the day eating chicken and rice for breakfast, and not knowing what else to do. Billy my roommate is sleeping, and I´m starting to buzz out about the next year, and then next thing I know I find myself journaling. Now if only they could turn down the a/c and let me use a standard keyboard.

I´ve been getting drilled like crazy here about life, and what it means to have and not to have. Everyone knows this but it´s something that we never really talk about that much. (well maybe you do, and I just missed it). But here are some random things.
  • How ever much you have you always think, îf I just had twice this much, I´d be comfortable
  • Those who have the most and can afford to be the most generous, give the least
  • We spend our entire lives trying to acquire things, that we can´t take with us.
  • Opportunity is garaunteed
  • How much time we spend wanting what someone else has, or to be like them
  • Life isn´t made to be understood, in yet we all think that we have it figured out.

Taxi´s here aren´t metered, instead they charge you based on a zone system. So first zone is a dollar, and next one is 50cents. One thing about being a foreigner, is that people are going to try to take advantage of you. So I hop in a cab and say 1.50 to Multicentro. and he says no, dos dollaires, I said no, uno dollaire, cinqaunte. He said no, and I got out, and got the next one, who said si to a dollar 50. When I got there, I gave him two dollars. Does that make sense? I have no problems with the two dollars, but hate feeling taken advantage of.

If you don´t mind Chitre´s, and everyone wanting to sell you something, this isn´t a bad part of the world to be in. It´s booming tourist industry, is making it a great place to invest. I´m going to flag it though, and stick to Panama city. I fly out of here either tomorrow or the next day. Haven´t quite decided yet, and will see what the weather is up to.
