Cancun - Day 5
Thursday. Josh and I had planned to go on a day trip to the island today, but our wake up call never came. The trip sounded super cool: It was all inclusive drinks and food, and included snorkeling, para-sailing, and even some swimming with sharks tour. Would have been great, but we didn't wake up until noon. When wake up calls go bad. A girl that I used to run with ages ago, and who Josh presently/recently works with is staying in Playa Del Carmen. Her and her mate, were getting into Cancun at around 6:30, so our day was mostly planned around getting to their Hotel at that time. We met them, Shena and Janelle, a little bit later then planned, after spending some time with mother nature, and sorting out where to go. While the two of them were trying to get ready, the power kept going out, so Josh and I made a quick run to the local convenience store. Sol and some Chips, we were back, and about an hour later we were ready to go into town. We were all keen to go to Coco Bongo, and that is where we went. A walk and a bus later we found ourselves waiting in a fairly sizeable line-up to get in. With a 40$ cover charge, they were doing a sizeable business. Coco Bongo is meant to be one of the best clubs in Cancun, known around the world for live broadway shows, and huge atmosphere. If you've seen the movie the mask, and can remember Jim Carrey tearing up the night club, Coco Bongo, is the one! The music was crazy good, the shows were excellent, and just as I was getting into it, about 30 minutes later, we had to go. I can't say that I noticed Shena feeling not well when we first went out, but at Coco Bongo it was extremely noticeable, and when she really started to get sick, we just barely got out in time. It was a bit of a mess and probably the most bad style that I've had in a while. I wasn't in to it. We caught a cab back to their hotel and Shena went to bed instantly. Josh and I were still in the middle of a huge go time, and hungry at that. We made two runs to the nearest Oxxo. The swimming makes more sense to me then Josh wearing those shorts on the second Oxxo Run. Josh, what was with those shorts? Bawling. Thursday Polished.
