Cancun - Day 6
Friday. Pegs not journal about today, but I find myself here anyways. After haggling in a market for the better part of 3 hours, we went to get something to eat. It was meant to be happy hour, which meant two for one drinks. I was up for a margarita if Josh was, so we were away to the races. Our server, that wanker, comes back with 4 margarita's. I looked at Josh, and I was pretty sure that I hadn't ordered two, and neither had he. We settled it though, and polished some nachos. When we asked for the bill, the two for one margarita's cost a fortune, and apparently weren't two for one. They could have said, Happy Hour, Buy one, get the second at another price. Maybe even add on the fact that it's because we're a gringo. Ricies. Maybe Cancun just made me super cheap; you said it Josh. I had bought at the market enough to keep both of our hands full, and we new that if we had any plans of making the aiport in the morning we would need to buy an alarm clock. Standing on a packed bus, holding bags, during rush hour, across town, uphill - both ways. ricies. We did get the alarm clock, and a backup battery, and the that was that. When we got back to the Hotel Josh was bagged. So was I. I couldn't be stuffed sleeping though, as I figure it would kill the last night in Cancun. I went to the bar by the beach where they were playing a pretty lively game of name that tune. I had a few Corona's, and talked with some people I met over the last few days. Everyone was going to a night club called the City, and I figured I could sign myself up for it as well; last night went to the pits when Shena couldn't handle her drinks. By the time I got Josh awake and we decided we would go, the group was out the door, and we had to make a break for it. I didn't even have the money for cover yet, so I had to run quickly to an a.t.m. next door. I'll give Josh some good credit for waking up from a nap and making Go Time a reality. Normally with the packages it was no line when we went out. "The City" is meant to be the biggest night club in Cancun, and after we finally got inside 30mins later, I could see why. Heaps of the clubs in Cancun, are a "Las Vegas style show" mixed with a night club. The first night I was unsure about it, but it's actually super cool. The city had a massive dance floor in the middle, with two levels all around it. In the center of the dance floor was two raised circular platforms. One you could dance on, and the other had the shows on it. There was super cool acts. Like people doing one arm handstands on top of someone elses head. Also some crazy good dancing, and cute girls. I don't remember quite why we left the city, but it was about 2am when we got back to our hotel. Josh wanted to go to sleep, and I was still on Go Time, so I left him and made my way into the other town, the real Cancun City. It took me a while to figure out where I was going, and had some good yawns with random taxi drivers. I hung out at a club where there was also some Las Vegas Style shows. I was feeling pretty bagged, and not really into it, but the guy next to me started talking to me, and we spun yawns until about 5:30. I remember him telling me that when I left I would be surprised to see daylight. He was right. Getting out of the Club that early, and in the middle of morning rush hour, was a day and night (Ricies) difference from when I entered the night before. The buses didn't run until 6, so I had 30minutes of walking to do, before I had hopes of catching one. I figure I walked about half of the way back by the time I saw the first bus. I hopped on, and the rest is tomorrow.
