Always Waiting
March 15th
I'm sitting, more dolled up then I've been in over a week, and ready for my last night out in Houston. It's been over 4 weeks now, and I'm coming home. Ozzy osbourne said it best, so I'll leave it at that.

I'm waiting for Al to come back so we can go out. That monkey, Probably one of the least punctual people you will ever meet, actually probably the opposite. We're going to go out to Mo Mong tonight(It's wednesday) - Cosmos & Thai food.

Today was a super laxing day. Up to an early start at 10:30, I had the usual cereal and finished writing a few articles. Next thing I know the afternoon has arrived, and the sun still hasn't come out. This is a new record for me, or close to it, for books that I've read in a row: After polishing of "The Perfect Mile" last week, I'm now onto "Rich Dad, Poor Dad". Dad, you called it. That book sums up the way that I've always thought. Hearing those things from some well established individuals only adds fuel to the fire. We are in a totally different time from when our parents grew up, and advice that was applicable back then, doesn't mean as much as it does in today's quickly changing times. I remember around the time of graduation, getting the life hassled out of me to go to University, etc. I've been out of school for about 3 years, and have been self-employed for almost 2 of those. So now, rather then going down the conventional path, I've take my own route, and discovered limitless opportunity. Two years now that I've invested in myself, and not in an institution and a life in the rat race on the corporate ladder.

Speculation.

We went to a spanish restaurant for lunch. It was cooling off, but we still took the patio, which has been rated best patio in Houston. It was quite choice, although they need to do something about the fruit flies that kept landing in the salsa, and not taking off again.

After a few errands, we went to the Deminil museum, which is only a few blocks from Al's house. The Demenil's were a couple that had far too much money (Daughter of Slumberjay), and had a massive collection of artwork. They decided it was neseccary to buy up about three blocks in a nice area of Houston, to showcase their collection to the public.

I will give it to Al, that I definitely don't know art for a whole in the wall; but I'm nervously going to say that a hole done the right way would have been more interesting for me to look at then some of the things I saw. The nightmare masks and suits, and some of that I can understand, but the circles on the paper, and the one stripe on that massive canvas? Interesting to say the least, and I feel more rounded already.

I was hoping for a Hot Import Nights reunion of a couple wednesday's ago, but unfortunately Karen couldn't make it, and Al didn't feel like racing the Ford so soon after getting it back from the shop.

March 16th
Half of this day is going to be spent in Houston, half in Edmonton, a Touch in Calgary, and several hours in American airspace. I'm not sure why I broke it up like that, but it does make the day seem a little bit better already. Waking even before my alarm clock, at 4:50am this morning I'm surprisingly well awake given the 3 hours of sleep I have in my system. My hearing in the airport hear has gone especially A wall, and I remind myself that in 6 hours I'm going to be back in Canada with the comforts of Public Health Care. Ryan you monkey - Should have invested the 60$ in travel insurance - Watch me loose my hearing over it. I wouldn't put a price on my hearing, but my uncle just recently lost his house. It's amazing the things we take for granted on a daily basis. That reminds me about those legs that I used to have. I hardly remembed having them, let alone that high that only lactic acid can deliver after punishing them in a half mile. Anticipation and motivation. I'm into it. Stronger Richer Wiser. Citius Altius Ricies. Nolan. You said it.

Right now in front of your eyes, you are looking at the plans for your next year. It's right there, or right here rather, and I'm willing to wager that you've missed it. Some text, some graphics, some users, now you're getting excited. I am.

Coming off over a month in the States, I'm nervous about meeting Canada, and her Winters in the middle of March. I can't beleive that it's already march, I've yet to see a snow fall worth talking about. Janice would have been great in the winter, but I'm left only to imagine, as G3 Josie and I make mates for the next week. Or two. I'm describing Houston winters as mild and nice. On the cold days it's enough to remind a 20 year old kid of a cool day in New Zealand, and on a hot day, it's enough to keep that same kid up at night. That kid.

Flying over the rockies, I'm already nervous about tomorrow. The 17th of March that I'll have seen 21 times, has only suddently stood out over the last quarter of that. It's created a soft spot. But I'll let it until tomorrow, wear green, and leave it.

Now in Edmonton, or Sherwood Park rather, I just got back from the Doctor. My ears! I can hear! It's not like I just hear either - My hearing is like twice what it used to be. I know what you're thinking, that because I had bad, and now I've got normal, it seems extra good. Well let me explain what happened. There was far too much ear wax in my ear for the doctor to see what was going on, so he said we needed to flush my ear out. Next minute I'm holding a little basin, have a gown on, and have this massive amount of water being sprayed forcely into my ear. Talk about an experience. It was all overwhelming, and when I saw the amount of ear wax coming out, I was pretty startled. No wonder I couldn't hear. After the fun was over, he took another look inside, and told me I had an infection.

Noises like plastic bags and even my fingers typing, are driving my newly virgin ears crazy. Here I am though. 4 hours later, I'm fully back integrated into Edmonton, or Sherwood park rather. Sign me up for some work, the gym, some tea, and some cleaning.
